Tea Towel - Sandfly
One of the few native species to have welcomed the arrival of humans. Previously the sandfly or namu had targeted seals, bats and birds. Only females bite, the blood meal allowing a
tenfold increase in egg production. Our swelling and itching is due to our immune response to the sandfly’s saliva. Fortunately over time exposure to their bite reduces our sensitivity – a mere 10,000 bites is thought to be sufficient.
These tea towels are the perfect purchase - iconic image, stylish design, necessary and inexpensive. They make a great gift because they are unbreakable and cheap to post. If they are not being sent around the globe how about buying one to jazz up a bottle of wine for that important friend? Tres chique!
