Birds of the Doubtful Valley - Morepork or Ruru

MR249

$4.50

The nocturnal ruru, or morepork, is found in forests throughout New Zealand. They use their acute hearing, sensitivity to light and soft fringes on wing feathers to silently fly through the darkness to locate large invertebrates, small birds, rats and mice. In Māori tradition the morepork is seen as a watchful guardian.
